You Sound Like You're From Landaan!

"London calling to the faraway towns..." (The Clash)
Early morning London, is such a beautiful place... Well at least it is when your not out in the bustling crowds when rushing to get to work on time, or stuck on a crowded train under someone's sweaty armpit! Stop starting on a big red bus that is making you want to bring up this mornings breakfast or nearly being run over by a black taxi or a manic on a bicycle! However, if you ever get a moment just to stop and take in your surroundings when your in London early morning, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. (The above photo was taking on a train as it was pulling into Cannon Street station, onlooking Tower Bridge)
Lunch time in London... Where on a bright hot sunny day like today many business men/women are seen crowded shoulder to shoulder in any sunny spot the eye can see. Where people will wine & dine, talk business and al fresco with friends its a pleasant atmosphere to be in among the bustle, multiple conversations & laughter which surrounds you.
What's always fascinated me about London is the vast amounts of beautiful architecture. I'm lucky to be based in an office located in central London next to 30 St Mary Axe (formerly the Swiss Re Building, and informally also known as the Gherkin) or as I like to call it, the pickle. Did you know? That all the windows in the Gherkin/Pickle are triangles. There are a total of 41 floors, standing a 591ft and located on the site of the former Baltic Exchange, which was extensively damaged in 1992 by the explosion of a bomb placed by the Provisional IRA.

The next architectural piece that we are all dying to visit in London, located at London Bridge is The Shard. Standing at a whopping 1,020 ft will be the tallest building in the European Union, opening in early February 2013.

So, next time your in London take a minute to stop and stare & take in whatever scenery that is right before you. You'll find there's a lot more than meets the eye.

Until next time... Where's your favourite place to be in London? (Feel free to send any pictures, I'd love to see some)
